The Mood

Sometimes, the mood I'm in is not helping me write a certain scene in my book. When I'm in that mind frame, I need to do something about it.

There are a couple of things that I do. I play a soundtrack to a movie, a certain song or a film.
There was a time when I was writing my first book and I just couldn't get in the mood I needed to be in. There was only one thing to do. Put Twilight on and watch it while I wrote. Twilight is a very angst ridden teen movie. I really needed to be in a very angst mood. It really worked.

For the second book Moth, I listened to Fleetwood Mac and the soundtrack to 50 Shades Of Grey a lot. When great music collide with the right mood while writing, magic happens and the words flow. It's amazing. I love doing that.

I saw this van when I was walking home from work and I had to take a picture of it. I love it! I love music. It matters a lot to me. I've created a whole group of characters just listening to Fleetwood Mac. The song Sisters Of The Moon inspired The Sisters Of The Moon in Moth. Also, there was a scene in Moth where Eva was being resurrected by them. The mood of the scene was inspired by the songs, I can't even remember! So many songs!

If you're stuck trying to writing something, try this! :)
I created a writing playlist of the songs I write to.
